BHA Lunch & Learn: Compliance 2026 — Updated Recap

On February 5, 2026, the Brickell Homeowners Association hosted a timely and well-attended Lunch & Learn on Compliance at The Capital Grille, convening condo board members, property managers, and industry professionals to prepare for the compliance demands ahead.

District 5 Commissioner Vicki Lopez opened the program with welcoming remarks, underscoring the importance of transparency, preparedness, and collaboration between associations and public officials.

The conversation was expertly moderated by Jessica Raffo, alongside a strong panel featuring Ricardo Alfonso, Joe Thompson, Sherry Overton, and Jonathan Goldstein. Together, they delivered practical insight and real-world guidance on the evolving compliance landscape.

Key discussion areas included:

  • Insurance challenges and underwriting realities for associations

  • Statutory website and posting requirements

  • Records requests, timelines, and documentation best practices

  • Transparency as a cornerstone of risk reduction and resident trust

A consistent takeaway throughout the program: compliance in 2026 requires proactive leadership, clear systems, and informed decision-making well before deadlines arrive.

Thank you to our event sponsors Acrisure, Overton Construction, US Century Bank, and Haber Law for helping make this important conversation possible and for investing in the long-term health of Brickell’s residential communities.
