District 5 Shares Latest Update on the 5th Street Play Spot

Commissioner Lopez’s District 5 Office has shared the latest update on the 5th Street Play Spot project. The project was successfully awarded, and the Notice to Proceed was issued in late May 2026.

The contractor is currently completing the required pre-construction activities, including obtaining permits, coordinating utility approvals, securing necessary clearances, and satisfying the County’s contractor identification and site-access requirements.

Once these administrative requirements are complete, the contractor will mobilize to the site and begin physical construction. The project remains on schedule, with substantial completion anticipated by April 2027.

The District 5 Office has also requested updated renderings, photographs, and other materials from the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. BHA will share this additional information with the community as soon as it becomes available.
