BHA Breakfast Briefing Spotlights Public Safety, Neighborhood Priorities, and Community Partnerships

From insurance and infrastructure to public safety, short-term rentals, traffic, parks, and neighborhood services, the issues shaping Brickell require more than conversation they require collaboration.

That collaboration was on full display at the Brickell Homeowners Association Breakfast Briefing on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, hosted at DUA Miami, Autograph Collection.

It was a wonderful morning of breakfast, networking, community updates, and meaningful conversation with condominium board leaders, property managers, residents, business members, community partners, public officials, and local stakeholders from across Brickell.

BHA’s mission is to bring together the people who live, work, play, and learn in Brickell so we can stay informed, build stronger relationships, and advocate for the quality-of-life issues that matter most to our neighborhood. Today’s briefing was a strong example of that mission in action.

We are especially grateful to DUA Miami, Autograph Collection for hosting us and providing such a beautiful setting for the morning. We are also proud to welcome DUA Miami as one of BHA’s newest members.

One of BHA’s greatest strengths is the network of professionals and businesses working alongside our condominium leaders, property managers, residents, and community partners, and we were glad to recognize their work during today’s briefing.

The briefing also featured important government and neighborhood updates from local officials and representatives, including Miami-Dade County District 5 Commissioner Vicki L. Lopez, City of Miami District 3 Commissioner Rolando Escalona, City of Miami District 2 Commissioner Damian Pardo, and representatives connected to City of Miami District 4 Commissioner Ralph Rosado as Chairman of the Miami DDA. 

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Vicki L. Lopez shared county-level updates and reinforced the importance of continued coordination between residents, condominium leaders, and local government on the issues affecting Brickell. City of Miami Commissioner Damian Pardo shared updates on recent City of Miami referendums, including the future of Miami Marine Stadium and the proposal to move City elections to even-numbered years. His remarks helped attendees better understand the issues before voters and underscored the importance of staying informed and engaged in local civic decisions.

City of Miami Commissioner Rolando Escalona highlighted ongoing work around Flatiron Park, including efforts to support its future use as a community dog park. His update was especially meaningful for Brickell residents who continue to advocate for more accessible, functional, and resident-friendly public spaces in the neighborhood. City of Miami Commissioner Ralph Rosado joined BHA for his first Breakfast Briefing, and we were grateful to welcome him into the conversation. Commissioner Rosado shared his appreciation for the opportunity to visit with our members and emphasized his continued engagement with Brickell through his role as Chairman of the Miami Downtown Development Authority.

Commissioner Rosado also highlighted the DDA’s work on a new strategy to support policing and security throughout Downtown Miami and Brickell and said “At the Downtown Development Authority, our commitment is simple: a safer Downtown — including Brickell, the Central Business District, and the Arts & Entertainment District — built on better data and the voices of our residents,” Commissioner Rosado shared. “We will be working even more closely with each member of the City Commission, as each represents an area or asset located Downtown. Every upgrade we make reflects what the community has asked for. Our goal is to help make Miami the safest big city in the country.”

MJ Green, Acting Director of the Miami DDA, shared that the DDA is working with its Chairman, Commissioner Ralph Rosado, on a new strategy to support policing and security throughout Downtown Miami and Brickell. BHA looks forward to learning more about this effort, providing community input, and continuing the conversation around public safety priorities that affect residents, businesses, and condominium communities.

Today felt like a new chapter for our City and for Brickell.

The energy in the room reflected something important: progress happens when residents, condominium leaders, property managers, public officials, business members, and community partners come together with a shared commitment to listen, collaborate, and act.

Most importantly, today’s briefing reminded us why these gatherings matter. When the right people are in the room, we are not only able to raise concerns, we are able to build trust, identify solutions, and move our neighborhood forward together.
