Brickell Homeowners Association Joins District 3 Community Walkthrough in South Brickell

Today we joined City of Miami Commissioner Rolando Escalona, Commander Gonzanlez and NRO, Miami PD, District 3 staff, City departments, residents, and community stakeholders for a community walkthrough of South Brickell, focusing on the area from SW 18th Road to SW 25th Road.

The purpose of the walkthrough was to hear directly from residents, document quality-of-life concerns, and identify opportunities for improvements throughout the neighborhood. As the group walked the community, residents highlighted a variety of issues affecting the area, while City staff documented concerns and discussed potential solutions.

Topics discussed during the walkthrough included neighborhood maintenance, pedestrian conditions, graffiti, road closures, and other quality-of-life concerns affecting South Brickell residents. District 3 staff worked alongside residents to document issues, identify follow-up items, and discuss potential solutions, while Commissioner Escalona reaffirmed his commitment to addressing community concerns through continued collaboration with City departments.

The walkthrough also highlighted positive progress throughout the neighborhood. Participants celebrated the healthy green grass at Tibor Hollo Park and discussed the upcoming improvements planned for the park, reflecting the ongoing investment being made to enhance public spaces and the quality of life for residents.

One example of District 3’s responsiveness came when residents reported graffiti during the walkthrough. The concern was immediately brought to the attention of the District 3 team, and by approximately 2:00 p.m. that same day, the graffiti had already been removed. Before-and-after photos were shared to confirm the work had been completed. This quick response demonstrated how direct communication between residents and City staff can lead to meaningful and visible improvements.

We appreciates the participation of the residents who took the time to attend and share their perspectives, as well as Commissioner Rolando Escalona and the District 3 team for organizing the walkthrough and coordinating follow-up efforts.

Community walkthroughs continue to be an important opportunity to strengthen communication between residents and local government, identify neighborhood priorities, and ensure community concerns are heard. The BHA looks forward to continuing to work alongside residents and public officials to advocate for a safer, cleaner, and more connected Brickell.
