On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 8:30 AM, the former Mandarin hotel will be demolished through a controlled implosion.
In the minutes leading up to the implosion, sirens will begin at 8:28 AM as a two-minute warning, followed by a 10-second final countdown at 8:29 AM. The implosion itself will occur at 8:30 AM and is expected to last approximately 20 seconds, with an “all clear” signal given shortly after, around 8:35 AM. Cleanup will begin immediately, and traffic is expected to fully reopen by approximately 1:30 PM.
