BHA Launches Resilience & Recovery Committee
The launch of the Brickell Homeowners Association’s (BHA) Resilience & Recovery Committee is not the beginning of the work, it is the result of years of consistent, on-the-ground community effort.
This initiative was built through BHA’s ongoing commitment to quality of life in Brickell, from organizing community trash cleanups during ICC Day to hosting hurricane preparedness forums that brought residents and experts together. Through these efforts, a clear need emerged: a more structured, forward-thinking approach to resilience that could unify stakeholders and proactively address the challenges facing the neighborhood.
That vision came to life this week as BHA officially launched its Resilience & Recovery Committee, marking an important step forward in strengthening preparedness, collaboration, and long-term sustainability across the Brickell community.
The initiative is led by Mattew Sengsourinh, who is spearheading the effort as Chair, alongside Co-Chair Manny Pozo. Together, they are setting the tone for a more coordinated and forward-thinking approach to resilience, one that brings together industry leaders, property stakeholders, and public partners.
The kickoff event welcomed board members, property managers, and key partners for an engaging and highly informative discussion. Special thanks to our sponsors and contributors, including Lorenzo Cardenas of USI and Jeremiah Kiefer, Founder of The Deft Group, whose support helped make the event possible.
This launch represents more than a new committee, it marks a shift in how resilience is approached in Brickell. Moving forward, the goal is not simply to react to issues as they arise, but to anticipate, plan, and advocate with clarity and consistency.
This is only the beginning. With renewed focus and growing momentum, BHA is committed to ensuring that resilience is no longer an afterthought, but a priority embedded into the future of the community.
The conversation covered a wide range of timely and impactful topics, including the role of AI and emerging technologies, ongoing infrastructure challenges, and the importance of strong partnerships with the City of Miami. These discussions reinforced a shared goal: ensuring that Brickell remains not only responsive in times of need, but proactive in building resilience ahead of future challenges.
More than just a single event, this launch represents a fresh start and renewed focus for resilience efforts within the community. It sets the foundation for continued dialogue, education, and collaboration among stakeholders who are committed to protecting and enhancing the quality of life in Brickell.
This is the first of many conversations to come. With strong leadership and growing momentum, BHA looks forward to expanding this initiative and continuing to bring valuable insights and resources to the community.
