Urgent Weekend Safety Concerns in Brickell
This past weekend brought a series of disruptive and unsafe incidents that left many Brickell residents not only concerned, but genuinely fed up with the ongoing lack of order in our neighborhood.
Throughout the weekend, delivery robots were seen operating in active roads, obstructing traffic flow and creating hazards for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. On Saturday, loud boom cars moved through the neighborhood, disturbing residents across multiple buildings as the sound echoed through high-rise corridors — even the most patient neighbors reached their limit.
On Sunday, ATV and dirt-bike groups entered Brickell, taking over the streets and alarming both pedestrians and residents inside their homes. The noise and aggressive movement of these groups created a sense of disorder and raised serious questions about enforcement and access control. In the past, the bridge was raised as bikers approached to prevent them from entering the neighborhood. We would like to see this measure implemented consistently to keep this type of chaos from entering Brickell and to protect the safety and peace of our community.
Collectively, these incidents illustrate a growing and unacceptable pattern. Residents are increasingly frustrated and are demanding proactive, consistent measures to maintain safety and prevent unregulated activity from entering the community.
The Brickell Homeowners Association remains committed to working with City of Miami leadership, law enforcement, and public safety partners to push for stronger, more innovative solutions that safeguard residents and restore the peace, safety, and quality of life our community deserves.
Update: Commissioner Pardo has since responded, stating that if any delivery robots are found obstructing traffic or sidewalks, enforcement will take action — including confiscating them and will ensure they adhere to all regulations.
